Easy Easter Activity #1:  The Easter Tree

Do you have a fake tree in the house or the perfect tree in your yard that can use a little Easter decorating love?  Using a dozen eggs, have an adult clean a needle by washing and then burning the needle point over a candle.  Then use the needle to poke a hole in the top and bottom of each egg. Over a bowl, blow out the inside of the egg into the bowl.  (Each family member can then scramble their own egg and have it for breakfast.)  Wash and dry the egg.  It is ready to paint and decorate.  When it is fully dry, hot glue a ribbon on the top and wait for it to cool off.  Now you are ready to tie your decorated egg onto a tree branch!

Easy Easter Activity #2:  The Reverse Easter Egg Hunt

This is a super fun and easy Easter activity the whole family can do! Everyone loves an Easter egg hunt. Let’s have some fun and mix it up! Let’s put more smiles on faces in the community by creating a reverse Easter egg hunt!

Have your children collect some round or egg-shaped rocks about the size of their palm.

Wash and dry the rocks. Have your child paint them as though they were decorating Easter eggs. Make sure to help your child write a positive message on each rock.  When these are dry, you can shellac the painted rocks so they are waterproof and the paint will not run.  Then put them in a basket and have your family go for a walk and place the painted Easter rocks where others in the neighborhood will see and find them and be encouraged by them!

Easy Easter Activity #4:  The Easiest Easter Cookies

Easy to make, and easy to clean! They are super yummy and you most likely have everything you need in your kitchen cupboards already! My whole family loves this easy Easter activity because it is super easy and super yummy!

Ingredients:

1 Box of Cake Mix (I use vanilla cake mix)

2 Eggs

½ Veggie Oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, and vanilla. Add in the cake mixture and stir to form a dough.  Make sure to use a fork to break up dry cake mix very well.  Then, add in the sprinkles.  Be super careful to not over mix the sprinkles or the colours will bleed.
  3. Drop rounded teaspoons of dough onto prepared baking sheet.  Here is when I add a Cadbury Mini Egg in the center of each drop of cookie dough.  😊

Bake for 8-9 minutes, until just the edges are light brown.  Let the cookies cool for 5 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool.  Then share and enjoy!
